Day The Later On

I'm getting a little behind, but we played Fluxx back on Sunday, and happened to use Brad's deck. Upon removing the cards from the box Brad seems to have found an additional card.

Day Fourteen

Now that this blog has reached its second weekiversery I shall no longer post daily, but only when something significant occurs. Thanks for joining us, see you back real soon.

And because I couldn't resist,

There once was a fellow named Brad
He hacked all the technology he had
He was rightly named Greco
For he was spry as a gecko
And his antics frequently made others glad.

Easter (Pants Day)

With a little magic Brad finds one more card, but the card count ups by two.

Ok, so finds isn't the right word. Brad discovered this card on his floor near the nice comfy chair in his room (from which I write to you), and we were able to figure out that it must have been the one in his pants.

This yields 7 diamonds, 7 spades, 9 hearts, 9 clubs, and the Joker, leading to...

Also, Jake has found 15ish/30ish of the chocolate eggs that were hidden around his room.

Day Ten

Nothing of note in the Brad department, but JJ is up to page 195 in Dracula. Also, the fish continues to haunt my screen.

A haiku:

His clock is a show.

Day Nine

We have the nine of hearts...

camoflauging itself in the red Nalgene!

Also, Brad has put a fish on my computer. It swims around and I don't know how to get rid of it. Moral: Don't mess with Brad.

*Card Count: 31*

And when it comes to counting hidden things, after the Good Friday Floppy Hunt (think nerdy version of an Easter Egg hunt) the Floppy Count is 137/138, specifically 49/50 in Boer Basement.

Day Eight

As a good friend of mine named George Orwell once said, "He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future."

Thus, when I presently say that Brad found the most recent card after midnight, and therefore technically on day eight, it makes it the true past. Because I have control over the past all the readers of this blog will join me under my command when I set up a distopian society in the near future that encourages sash-wearing and dictionary-burning.

And the card was:

in Brad's glasses case with his SD card. The card was found on account of Brad searching for the SD card, and remembering that he keeps that in his glasses case, not, in fact, glasses.

Whew! It's been more than a full week since Brad started finding cards! None today, so instead I shall share an acrostic poem:

Day Six

Four cards found today. Here's the one that was hiding in Brad's socks.

And this little spade was in the pillowcase.

A little bird told me that Brad forgot deliberately chose not to put two of these cards in his pocket, and that they have since relocated, leaving the card count at 28. But he also found:

the three of hearts hidden in BTD (beside the desk)! Brad's naming convention for his computers is three letter acronyms: preposition the location. Thus there is also OTD, OTF, and UTS yielding "on the desk", "on the fridge", and "under the stairs". I feel like one or more of these is inaccurate though. (Citation needed)

*Card Count: 29*

While I appreciate that some readers of this blog have found the hiding spots interesting and wish to have a more full participation, I hereby officially discourage overenthusiastic readers of this blog from attempting to prolong or infinitely perpetuate the finding of cards by Brad.

What a busy day!

Brad needed to test the magnetic properties of some items, and conveniently, he choose to use the closest fridge magnet to him. Lo and behold, someone was hiding behind it!

Day Five

Today Dan took it upon himself to photograph all of the remaining hidden cards that he was able to find. This only amounted to 17 though, so there are still some unaccounted for. I'll have to see if I know of any more. I may post pictures of hiding spots when Brad finds cards in the future. For now we can only wait.

Day Four

Sunday was the first non-card day.

It seems that from here on out specific card finds will be more significant.

Since I can't tell you any locations from yesterday, instead I'll mention an older hiding spot. Brad found one of the cards lurking between the pages of Dracula, which JJ is also currently reading for the Brit Lit course that they are in. Brad says that Brit Lit is going "Aawsome!" and that there has not been too much work lately. He is now down with the book, though JJ seems to have been about a third of the way through as of yesterday.

Day Three

So far Brad has found: "the King of Giraffes" (the ace of spades which had been rehidden within the tied legs of the Beanie Giraffe. Count may be one high, because Brad is refusing access to the cards, but, after all, they are his cards.

*Card Count: 28 27*

Even if the count is a little high, Brad has passed the halfway point. Though, as it's not a linear function, it is probably better to label this as the first half-life.

Addendum:
Harry Russo swiped the cookies Brad had brought back from the dining hall, and replaced them with a card from elsewhere in the room. A loss for Brad in the cookie department, but at least he gained the six of clubs!

*Card Count: 28*

Day Two

The mystery of the fuzzy card count has been solved. I won't name names, but I'm told that certain persons whose initials are Josh Uitvlugt and Dan Bosscher have taken it upon themselves to rehide a number of the cards. Bosscher only rehid 2, and I have yet to confirm firsthand the rehidance of Uitvlugt.

Thus the number of found cards and the number of cards sitting on Brad's desk are no longer identical. Since I can't very well keep track of how many cards Brad has found in this case, I think I shall instead tally how many he has in his posession, and do my best to keep you updated when he finds cards.

Among other cards, Brad found the one over the curtain rail.

*Current Count: 27*

Josh's explanation of why it is better to hide cards in Brad's room than in Sam's:

"Let's say you have a bag of grass seed and you want to prank your neighbor with it. Hiding a deck of cards in Brad's room is like if you hide the grass seed all over the living room. But hiding the deck of cards in Sam's room would be like hiding the grass seed all over their front lawn."

Brad is now aware of the existence of the blog, as evidenced by the comment. He is apparently amused.

Day One

No details yet, but it seems that Ac Js Ah 10c have been found.

*Card Count: 21*

The count is a little fuzzy. I'll work it out later. But 6h 10d 7h have been found under the router, in the fan, and in a third less memorable location.

*Card Count: 24*

Card in CD tray found. Several times. After various ejections and retractions.

Review of Day Zero

Well, the blog didn't get started right away on day zero, so this is in review, looking back from day one.

Brad returned from joint dorm (scratch that ) God-Worship with BV, only to find a ten of diamonds bulging from his keyboard and a jack of clubs shoved partway into his mouse. *Card Count: 2* This raised his suspicions and he soon found more in his Nalgene, 2nd keyboard, on his bulletin board, in the phone and in the foot light switch (7d Ks 6d 3c 4c). *Card Count: 8* At this point he was alerted to the door message which he had missed on the way in:
*Card Count: 9*

He also seems to have found Kd Jh 8c 9c Jd 9d 7c 10h throughout the rest of the day.

*Card Count: 17*
